I like to think of myself as a visionary
Hello,
My name is Marie-Ange Massunken Ahinful, the founder, president, and CEO of Leading Ladies Canada.
Today I am proud to introduce you to Leading Ladies Canada.
A bit about how my organization came to be. My family and I immigrated to Ottawa when I was 14 years old. In addition to Ottawa, I’ve had the pleasure of living in Sudbury and Moncton. I am now a proud wife and mother of three wonderful boys.
Over the years, I met many women who were very driven like myself. However, I noticed there weren’t many organizations where we, as black women, are at the forefront and where we are provided with the tools and resources to grow and be successful. As such, I decided to start an organization, that I went on to name Leading Ladies Canada. Leading Ladies would evolve to be an organization whose main purpose is the empowerment of black women and youth. In other words, my goal with this organization is to support as many black women and youth in Canada in becoming successful in every aspect of their lives. I have always enjoyed helping other women and have been a go-to person for my inner circle, therefore being a part of this organization is a natural step in fulfilling my life purpose of serving others.
Over the last few years, I have had the pleasure of sharing this platform with a team of motivated women from all walks of life who, like myself, have a desire to help women reach their highest potential. These amazing ladies have worked tirelessly with me and their commitment to the organization is invaluable.
Leading Ladies has also received support from numerous community members for which I feel very blessed. Your words of encouragement, participation in our events (from near and far), collaborations, and contributions did not go unnoticed and were very much appreciated.
The greatest benefit I get from being a Leading Lady is that I get to wake up every day knowing that I am living in my purpose and meeting amazing people while doing so. I also love that this organization has provided me with the opportunity to build key relationships and bring awareness to some of the issues black women face.
In the next few years, I would love for Leading Ladies to be recognized as an organization known for helping black women break the glass ceiling!
